A legacy-recording service. Every voice kept warm.
Hearthstone helps people preserve their stories in their own voice. Enrolled users receive one interview question a week by text message or email, and record their answer — audio, video, or writing — right from their phone. The application archives every answer for the recipients they choose, with messages that can stay sealed until a birthday, a wedding day, or any moment the author names.
Each deployment of Hearthstone is a private, invitation-only instance serving one family’s archive. There is no public signup and no shared data between instances: users join by invitation from their instance’s administrator, and everything they record belongs to their archive alone.

About the messaging program
Hearthstone sends automated, application-generated messages only to enrolled users who have given documented consent. Typical frequency is one message per week plus at most one reminder. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages, or HELP for help. Every message begins with “Hearthstone:” so users always know the sender.
How SMS consent is collected
Consent is collected at enrollment — verbally, in person or by phone — by the instance’s administrator before any message is sent. Every user is asked, word for word:
“Would you like to receive one Hearthstone story question a week by text message at this number? It’s about one message per week plus at most one reminder. Message and data rates may apply, and you can reply STOP at any time to stop, or HELP for help.”
Only after the user agrees is their phone number enrolled. No number is ever messaged without this consent, and consent can be withdrawn at any time by replying STOP or by telling the instance administrator directly.
